A GP practice
Clinical and reception staff together, in a slot the practice already holds. The taster is the usual starting point and the half day is the usual second booking.
For GP practices & clinical teams
Stress and burnout sessions for GP practices, primary care networks and clinical departments, led by a Registered Nurse (NMC) who spent two decades in the NHS. Your team can tell the difference within five minutes, and they do.
The picture in primary care
Of NHS sickness absence is anxiety, stress, depression or other psychiatric illness. It is the single largest reported cause.
NHS England Digital, Sickness Absence Rates, May 2026Of GPs in a UK primary care study were classed as severely exhausted. The same study linked burnout to reported near misses.
Hall et al., British Journal of General Practice, 2019None of that is news to a practice manager. What to do about it, in the slot you have, is the useful part.

Leah Morley-Fitzpatrick is a Registered Nurse (NMC) with over two decades in healthcare across oncology, elderly care, research and mental health. For ten of those years she worked within mental health nursing, including managing a mental health care home throughout the pandemic and maintaining zero COVID cases.
That matters here more than it does anywhere else. A clinical team can tell within minutes whether the person at the front has ever run late on a list, or handed over something they were not happy about, or gone home unsure. Wellbeing content from somebody who has not is heard politely and then set aside.
No generic wellness material, and no theory without a practical tool attached. The aim is restoring balance, reducing burnout and improving retention.
“You are your first patient, and the one who deserves your care most.”
Over two decades in healthcare, and 300+ people guided through nature-based practice.

A practice cannot close for a wellbeing day, and any proposal that assumes otherwise is not a serious one. These are the slots that exist.
That is the whole first conversation. Fifteen minutes on what your team are carrying and what the week will realistically allow, and a one page proposal after it.
What changes for a clinical room
Rota pressure, compassion fatigue, and the particular weight of decisions made quickly with incomplete information. Not the corporate version with the job titles swapped out.
Practices short enough to use in the gap between one appointment and the next, because that is the only gap there is. Anything requiring twenty undisturbed minutes is not taught as a workday tool.
They absorb the frustration of every patient who could not get through, and they are routinely left out of clinical wellbeing entirely. Practices that include them tend to notice the difference fastest.
The session is explicit that it cannot change the list, the rota or the funding. Starting anywhere else loses a clinical room inside ten minutes.
Five layers, each held by the one around it. The spine of every session, whatever the length.

Clinical and reception staff together, in a slot the practice already holds. The taster is the usual starting point and the half day is the usual second booking.
A full day for a group of practices, where the cost of the day is shared and the managers are in the room alongside their teams.
Whole departments and clinical teams outside primary care. The framework is the same; the pressures the session is built around are agreed beforehand.
Where wellbeing is a standing commitment rather than a response to a bad quarter, it is worth looking at a programme.
Ongoing programmes ›What people say afterwards
Feeling calmer and more grounded, and understanding my stress responses for the first time.
A noticeable shift in energy and morale across the whole team.
Most practices start with the 90 minute taster in a slot they already hold.

No pressure and no pitch. A short conversation about what your team are carrying, and which format would fit the slot you actually have.
